Our Client, a leading agency, whose primary service is Integrated Marketing, is looking to recruit a General Manager, to manage their business.

Proposed Start Date:  1st July 2017

The successful person will be recruited to provide general management services and oversee all the key functions of the organization.

The salary is competitive and dependent on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The General Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and will handle the following:

Summary: This position requires a person who can deliver on Strategy Formulation and Implementation of the company’s Strategic Plan, Business Development, Relationship Management (staff and clients), Brand Management, Performance Management, Research, and any other tasks that will be delegated from time to time.

Main Purpose of the Job: The General Manager is responsible for successfully generating business and overseeing quality delivery of advertising services.

Key relationships to the role: Internal:Executive Director, Board of Directors, Head of Client Service, Finance Manager, HR & Administration Manager, Head of Operations, and Creative Manager

External: Our clients, existing and new partners, Associates, Service Providers, Suppliers, the Public and other actors

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Implementation

  • Continually deliver on the Company’s Strategic Plan
  • Develop global best practice standards for the company in terms of policies and procedures;
  • Develop and deliver integrated branding and marketing solutions
  • Ensure effective management of the below the line revenue stream and develop a digital marketing division;

Business Development

  • Develop and deliver on the annual business plan;
  • Identify business development and growth opportunities;
  • Generate new business and secure repeat business;
  • Manage the Research Function to ensure innovative ideas that translate into revenue.

Customer Service

  • Develop suitable affiliation and partnerships both locally and internationally on behalf of the company;


  • Develop and manage project budget;
  • Review reporting and analytic needs for Advertising Operations;
  • Act as the proponent for review and adoption across departments;
  • Manage Advertising Operations strategic initiatives as needed; and

HR Management

  • Regularly report to the ED on the progress of the companys performance;
  • Review departmental service level agreements and escalation policies, updating protocols as needed.

Skills and Qualifications 


  • Bachelors in Communication or Marketing


  • 8 years relevant experience, 3 of which have been at a senior management level, at a reputable agency.
  • Strong Business network


  • Agency / Advertising regulations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of BTL and Digital Marketing
  • Strong working knowledge of Marketing concepts and protocols
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft
  • Customer Relationship management
  • Logistics Support
  • Financial Management
  • IT Support
  • Advertising regulations
